For years, Teresa Bestwick founder of Shining Light Ministries has been reaching out to help women struggling with addiction. She sees the miracles of women’s life changed through her amazing program. This is why we’re excited about launching a new plan to help bring women to our homes that do not have means to get the rehabilitation they need through guidance, restoration and love.
One of my memoirs’ was from an evening visiting the jail, where I saw a young girl in an army green jumpsuit laying in the floor in a fetal position. I was sharing about the hope and freedom in Jesus. She was crying from the lesson and wanting to go home to her children. Addicted and full of uncertainties this story is quite normal for many because of the lack of healing from the root that causes the crime; such as addiction. The majority of women in jail according to researchers have suffered some kind of trauma, such as domestic or sexual violence; poverty and many suffer from serious mental illness.
